High-quality Handicraft

The artist Ulrich Perathoner comes from a wood sculpting family from the Val Gardena, where this craft developed in the mid-17th century.

In those days decorating sculptors passed on their artistic experience to other sculptors who further developed the method and technique and worked out new themes such as sacral motifs.

Ulrich Perathoner is one of these sculptors and he has worked successfully as master sculptor since 1976. He started his career at the School of Arts in St. Ulrich/Ortisei and then honed his artistic skills and knowledge at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.

His personal aspirations to hone his artistic skills helped him to establish an internationally leading wood sculpting business.

All models of the UP collection are designed and hand-carved by the master’s own hand.

Since 2003 Ulrich Perathoner’s son Daniel has been working in the business too. He has also made a wood sculpting training before attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, from which he graduated with outstanding artistic achievement as a student of the master class. Thus he will have the qualities and qualifications to run such a business: creativity and an excellent training.

The UP collection is exclusively carved and hand-painted by Gardena master craftsmen. They design and produce both traditional and modern motifs, religious and profane themes in various sizes and finishings.

On request we will also produce sculptures in all kinds of woods and sizes, or sculptures made of bronze according to the customer’s design and sketch.

The UP collection is successfully exported worldwide. Our certificates guarantees the items’ exclusive production in the Val Gardena workshops.
